Many times, things can go wrong and it is beyond your control. In 2012, the United States saw 333,000 large trucks involved in accidents. 75% of those accidents were caused by drivers of other, smaller vehicles. However, most accidents that occur were usually within the control of the driver. Also in 2012, large trucks accounted for 4% of all registered vehicles, and large trucks were involved in 8% of all vehicle crashes involving fatalities. While the amount of fatal crashes involving truckers has gone up in the past 4 years, most of all recorded semi truck accidents result only in property damage.
